Есть на Мадагаскаре такое существо как Madagascar hilt, или мадагаскарская руконожка. Есть у неё и латинское название: Daubentonia madagascariensis. Но нам это сейчас не важно. Нам важно и интересно, что у неё есть иное название: Ай-ай или aye–aye. На своём острове она считается существом потусторонним, страшным. Его даже в сказках не упоминают и название боятся вслух произносить. Когда натуралисты его поймали и показали местным, те в ужасе и удивлении кричали «Ай-ай» или «aye-aye». Натуралисты и решили, что это её местное название.
Это была предистория, приквел, а вот основная часть.
Жил себе да поживал в частном зоопарке Техаса, потребляя кислород и переводя одни органические вещества в другие, пушистый Ай-ай, по кличке…
Вы не поверите. С воображением у владельца было не очень, поэтому звали его Ай-ай. Сначала владелец, потом и остальные звери тоже стали его так называть ай-ай Ай-ай. Когда к нему кто-то обращался, ему каждый раз казалось, что в зовущего пробрался вирус заикания. И, действительно, некоторых зверей иногда зацикливало, особенно ослика, и он мог почти час кричать «Ай-ай-ай-ай…», пока хозяин зоопарка не бросал ему морковку. Хотя, обычно раньше кто-то из зверей, у кого организм позволял, бросал в него камень.
А самое интересное началось потом. Сначала ай-ай Ай-ай проявил интерес к планшетному компьютеру и научился на нём рисовать. Хозяин даже рассылал своим знакомым эти картинки, пока они не приобрели популярность, а потом стал продавать. Потом хозяин перешёл на использование электроники от Apple. В руки ай-ай Ай-ай попал айпод, (IPad). Такое количество «aye» так озадачило всех зверей, что они начали менять и произношение, и написание, те кто умел писать, естественно, скрывая это от хозяина. Они решили: раз IPad, то почему aye-aye?
И всё изменилось. Теперь aye-aye стал i-i. И пишется быстрее, и нажатий на клавиши меньше, и чернил. Теперь, как назывался планшетный компьютер героя нашего рассказа? А вот так: «i-i I-i IPad», смартфон «i-i I-i IPhone».
Как результат, бывшему aye-aye, а ныне i-i, ещё сильнее казалось, что все вокруг заикаются. Но мир меняется, непривычное становится привычным, и вскоре это стало нормой, а i-i стал фирменным существом Apple. Они даже стали вкладывать деньги в поддержание их популяции. А наш i-i получил от фирмы Apple за создание нового образа то ли Е миллионов долларов (это 2718281), то ли Пи миллионов долларов (это 3141592), оставил работу в зоопарке и стал рекламировать продукцию Apple вместе с осликом, который мог кричать «i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i» часами.
The aye-aye – Daubentonia madagascariensis.
In Madagascar there is such a creature as the aye-aye. It also has a name in Latin: Daubentonia madagascariensis. But that does not matter to us. On its home island, it is considered to be an otherwordly and terrible creature. It is not mentioned even in fairy tales and its name is afraid to speak aloud. When the naturalists caught him and showed the local people, the last ones shouted in horror and surprise: “ai-ai” or “aye-aye”. The naturalists decided that it was its local name.
It was a prehistory, a prequel, and here is the main part.
Once upon a time in a private zoo in Texas there lived, consuming oxygen and transferring some organic substances to others, fluffy aye-aye, nicknamed …
You will not believe. The imagination of the owner was not very well, so his name was Aye-aye. Firstly, the owner, then the other animals also began to call him aye-aye Aye-aye. When someone called him, it seemed to him that the stammer virus occurred in the calling. And, indeed, from time to time some animals were cycled, especially the donkey, who could scream “Ai-ai-ai …” for nearly an hour until the zookeeper threw him a carrot. However, usually, before the zookeeper did, someone from the animals, whose body was suitable for that, had thrown a stone at him.
And the most interesting began later. At first aye-aye Aye-aye took interest in the tablet computer and learned to draw on it. The owner even sent out those pictures to his friends until they (the pictures) gained popularity and then began to sell them. After that the owner switched to the use of electronics from Apple. IPad fell into aye-aye Aye-aye’s hands.
Such a number of “aye” puzzled all the animals so much that they started to change both the pronunciation and the spelling (those who knew how to write, and, naturally, hiding their ability from the owner). They thought: if we spell “IPad” then why do we spell “aye-aye”? And everything had changed.
Since then “aye-aye” has become “i-i”, that was written faster and it was needed fewer presses on the keys and less ink. And guess what the name of the tablet computer of the hero of our story was? Here it is: “i-i I-i iPad”! And, of course, his smartphone was named “i-i I-i iPhone”.
As a result, the former Aye-aye (I-i from then on) felt as if everyone around him stammered. But the world has been changing, the unusual has turned into habitual and soon it has been considered the norm and I-i has become the trademark creature of Apple Inc. The company even invested in maintaining population of aye-ayes.
And what about our I-i’s life? For the new image creating he got either E million dollars (this is 2718281), or Pi million dollars (this is 3141592) from Apple, retired from his job in the zoo and began to advertise Apple products together with the donkey, which could shout “I-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-i” for hours.
